Vaporesso Target PM80: Features and First Impressions

The Target PM80 is the latest pod AIO from Vaporesso—or pod mod, as these devices have come to be referred to lately. The Target line has become pretty popular for Vaporesso, but most of the Target products in the past have been mini box mods. The PM80 is the first pod-based vape of the line, but unlike most pod devices on the market, it is not an MTL low-wattage vape. It is compatible with the newly introduced GTX coils, and the two included in the package are rated up to 45 and 60 watts.

Vaporesso has done a great job over the past few years of making some of the best mods on the market like the Gen, Target Mini II, Revenger, and Luxe. They did make a few pod systems previously, but outside of the Renova Zero there haven’t been any that I enjoyed using. Let’s see if the PM80 can fix that.

Target PM80 features

The Vaporesso Target PM80 has a similar form factor to the Geekvape Aegis Boost but it is a little smaller. At the same time, it is a bit larger than most pod vapes out there—but that makes sense since it has a full adjustable chip in it and a larger battery then most pods. There are six color options, with the color referring to the accent panel around the back. I have the red one which has a shiny gunmetal frame with a red and black panel across the back that looks and feels nice.

The Target PM80 has a nice large and bright color screen that shows resistance, power output, puff counter, and battery level. You have up and down buttons to adjust power from 5-80 watts in 0.5-watt increments. They list the battery at 2000 mAh with a 2-amp charge rate. Both good specs if true, but I’ll test those in my review to make sure they are accurate. You can also press up and down together to enter the menu which has a few options including voltage mode, smart VW, and the option to change the theme color among other things. I was also very happy to see that mine came with two coils and two pods—most products like this won’t include a spare pod!

First impressions

The Target PM80 is very nicely built. It’s solid, has no button rattle or anything, and while it’s not technically rugged, I have dropped it a few times and you can’t even tell it has been dropped. It feels very high-quality. The screen is nice, and the menu system is simple and easy to use. It’s a little early to judge performance, but I’ve been vaping on the 0.2-ohm coil with 70/30 3 mg e-juice at 40-45 watts and it’s performing well at that watt range. There is no adjustable airflow, but the default airflow feels good so far.

I love that they use a clear pod which makes it real easy to see your juice level. Yeah, that is supposed to be a given, but sadly so many companies get that wrong. It’s very easy to fill as well, since they went with the standard rubber plug, and the pods fit great with strong magnets. Overall, I’m pretty impressed with this device so far and it seems to be a solid portable beginner DL set up. As long as the coils don’t disappoint me down the road, Vaporesso is going to have a real winner here.
